DiscoverCars gives three ways to pay, and the choice affects how much leaves your card today and how much you settle with the supplier at the desk.

What are the three options?

Full Prepayment pays everything online, Partial Prepayment pays the booking fee and any cover online, and Pay Later leaves the rental price for the desk.

Which methods work online?

Credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted online, with charges taken in currencies such as US dollars, euros or pounds.

Which currency is used at the desk?

Payments at the rental desk are made in the local currency, such as riyals in Saudi Arabia, dinars in Kuwait and Bahrain, rials in Oman or pounds in Egypt.

How Does Booking Credit Work With the DiscoverCars Offers Offer?

Booking Credit is one of the two refund routes after a timely cancellation, and it keeps the full value of your booking for a later rental anywhere DiscoverCars operates.

How long is it valid?

Credit lasts three years from the day it is issued, which gives plenty of time to reuse it for a different trip, city or country across the network.

Can you turn it into money?

Yes, the cancellation email carries a link to withdraw the credit to your original payment method if you prefer a card refund instead.

When should you choose credit?

Credit suits frequent travellers who expect to rent again, while a card refund suits a one-off trip, and both options appear when you cancel in time.

How Do DiscoverCars Grace Periods Work?

Suppliers hold your car for a grace period after the booked pick-up time, which ranges from 30 minutes to a few hours, with one hour the most common.

Does the grace period always apply?

It applies only within the supplier's business hours, so arriving after the desk closes can cost the booking even if you are inside the stated window.

What about returning late?

Many suppliers allow about one hour of grace at drop-off as well, after which an extra day or a late fee can be charged under the rental terms.

What counts as a no-show?

A renter who misses the pick-up without contacting the supplier counts as a no-show, and the prepaid amount is lost under the booking terms.

What Should You Do About Flight Delays?

Delays happen, and the help centre's advice is simple: tell the supplier as early as you can, because they decide whether to hold the car.

Does adding a flight number help?

Adding or updating your flight number in My Booking tells the supplier when you land, though holding the car beyond the grace period still depends on them.

Can another driver collect instead?

Only the main driver named on the booking can collect the car, so a passenger with a licence cannot take over the pick-up if you are held up.

DiscoverCars tracks average daily prices month by month, and the cheapest month differs across the region, from April in Qatar and Egypt to September in Saudi Arabia.

Which months cost least?

Qatar and Egypt are cheapest in April, Oman in June, Bahrain in July, Kuwait in August and Saudi Arabia in September, according to the country pages checked on 19 October.

Which months cost most?

January tops the price chart in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, while October peaks in Kuwait, June in Bahrain, December in Oman and February in Egypt.

Does booking early help?

Booking ahead locks in a price, while free cancellation up to 48 hours before pick-up keeps the option to rebook if a lower total appears closer to the date.
